Since the beginning ...
It seems like we’re making history for ourselves here at We Go To Shows (WGTS).
It’s hard to believe how far things have gotten since the one simple idea was thought
up by co-founders Lee Gargano and Eman Barbaro, in late 2005. Two friends sharing the same
interest in the Toronto music scene, turned into the same two friends deciding to expose
independent music through an online magazine.
WGTS was never planned, until we all realized
just how possible it was. Our staff consists of volunteers who are into what we’re doing.
WGTS consists of many talented photographers, writers, and web designers who all posses the
sole requirement of being passionate about music and their local scene. What started as only
being focused in Toronto has now expanded up to Montreal and all over Southern Ontario, and WGTS
has no plans to stop growing. We’re ready to take over.
Our mission...
We’re not here to tell you what music to listen to; we’re here to open your eyes (and ears)
about the music. WGTS wants to make everyone realize that great music exists at home, in your
local community. While we try to expose your local scene we also deliver artists everyone is
familiar with in an entertaining way. If we can get you exposed to a new band or one you’ve never
gave a chance before, then we’ll feel pretty accomplished. We’ve all got to have a passion, and
for WGTS, this is it.
